Bismillah
Before anything you begin
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Salawat
Throughout the day, and in Jamatkhana
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
Shukrana
In gratitude, morning and evening
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
Istighfar
Seeking forgiveness, especially at night
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Astaghfiru-llāha rabbī wa atūbu ilayh
I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I turn to Him.
Du'a for light
Before Subh and after Maghrib
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا
Allāhumma-jʿal fī qalbī nūrā
O Allah, place light within my heart.
Tasbih of Fatima
After each Du'a — 33, 33, 34
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ • الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ • اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
Subḥāna-llāh · Al-ḥamdu lillāh · Allāhu akbar
Glory be to Allah · All praise to Allah · Allah is the Greatest.
Du'a for travel
Setting out on a journey
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ
Subḥāna-lladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn
Glory to Him who has subjected this to us; we could never have done it ourselves.
Closing du'a
At the end of a majlis
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً
Rabbanā ātinā fi d-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi l-ākhirati ḥasanah
Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter.
